Pecan Pie


9" unbaked pie crust
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecan halves, heaping


Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the syrup, sugars, butter, eggs, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Top with the pecans. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the center becomes set. If the crust is browning too much, cover the pie carefully with foil.
