Butterscotch Filling


1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
2 tablespoon butter or margarine, room temperature


Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, and water in a small saucepan then bring to a boil. Stir constantly for 1 minute and remove from heat. Add the butter and stir until melted. Cool to room temperature before using.
