Classic Shortbread Cookies


2 cups butter or margarine, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour


Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and flour to butter mixture. Blend well. Place dough into cookie press and press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes and remove from cookie sheet. Continue to cool on cooling grid.
