Banana Nut Cheesecake

chocolate wafer crust recipe, baked
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup banana, mashed
2 large eggs
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tablespoons water


Preheat oven to 350°F.

Prepare chocolate wafer crust recipe. Press onto the bottom of a 9" springform pan. Bake for 6 minutes. Cool.

In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and banana. Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in walnuts and pour over the crust.

Bake for 40 minutes. Loosen the cake from the rim of the pan. Cool on a wire rack before removing from the pan.

In a saucepan, melt chocolate chips, butter, and water over low heat, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over the cheesecake. Chill.
